Luke S. Kahng, CDT, is a master ceramist with nearly 30 years of experience as a dental technician, and is the Owner and Director of Operations at LSK121 Oral Prosthetics, an all-encompassing dental laboratory that handles all aspects of restoration cases. A widely respected author and lecturer, Luke is the creator of the Chairside Shade Selection Guide, the Chairside Shade Guide, and the Ceramic Shade Guide System.



LIVE CE LECTURE TOPIC: Utilizing Digital Technology for Simple through Complex Cases

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This seminar will help attendees become acclimated to utilizing modern, digital technology to achieve high quality, highly esthetic restorative results. This will include both simple and complicated/complex cases and will focus on the best technology and techniques available to lab technicians to provide successful results on every case.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:

  • Explain how to select & use the best Zirconia block for pre-shading
  • llustrate full-mouth restoration options for specific cases
  • Demonstrate how complex and complicated cases can be simplified using digital technology
  • Educate attendees on utilizing natural color to improve the overall quality of the cases they complete

2PM-3PM CE Live Lecture by Dr. Christopher Silvoy, DMD (1.0 CE contact hours)

Dr. Silvoy received his degree from Temple University. With over 20 years of manufacturing experience, he possesses highly detailed knowledge of various materials. He worked in a group practice with an in-house laboratory for 13 years before opening his own practice in 2014. Having technicians onsite was a priority for his business and he built his patient base offering the benefits of a full-service removables laboratory.

LIVE CE LECTURE TOPIC: Digital Dentures - In-house Solutions from the Prosthodontist's Perspective

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Dr. Silvoy will present how effective and efficient in-house digital denture solutions are. He will cover various new options and cover their ease of use, including software details, case evaluation, workflow options until the final milling stage. Furthermore material selection and treatment planning will be essential parts of this lecture.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:

  • Understand treatment planning for fully edentulous patients
  • Learn the steps involved in designing a digital denture
  • Identify material options for CAD/CAM dentures
  • Discuss manufacturing techniques for digital dentures

Dr. Miles R. Cone is a board-certified Prosthodontist & has additional qualifications as a Certified Dental Technician. Miles is the Editor in Chief of The ACP Messenger, has numerous peer-reviewed publications, and is a KOL and speaker for GC America, Amann Girrbach, Innavato Holdings, Garrison Dental Solutions, and Straumann Implants.

Lucas Lammott is the owner of M31 Dental Studios in Gloucester, MA. Additionally, Lucas is a KOL for GC America, Amann Girrbach, and Wagner Rotary. Lucas has been featured in the Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Journal of Dental Technology and the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry.

LECTURE TOPIC: The Esthetic Way to Long-span Implant Solutions with the New Generation of High-translucent Zirconia

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This lecture will provide you with step by step instructions on how to create highly esthetic long-span implant works. It will also cover the importance a sound treatment plan and continue through the various phases of care, including tooth preparation, final impression, provisionalization and finally, cementation. This presentation will include ways to improve communication between the dentist and lab technician and outline various techniques and materials currently available to achieve easy and predictable long-term results in your current practice and dental laboratory for delivering high-end results.

Alexander Wuensche obtained his accreditation as a CDT in Friedrichshafen, Germany. Now president of Zahntechnique Dental Lab in Miami, FL he specializes in complex implant cases and CAD/CAM technology. Alexander Wuensche has lectured for numerous leading Dental Education Programs including Seattle Study Club and the Pankey Institute, and published articles for numerous outstanding Dental Publications.

LECTURE TOPIC: Hands-on Workshop "Zirconia for every Situation" incl. a Look Behind the Curtain at Amann Girrbach's New Zirconia Products by Falko Noack (Head of R&D)

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This lecture will start with a behind the scenes look at Amann Girrbach's portfolio of zirconia products by Falco Noack (Head of R&D). After this segment, Alexander Wuensche will start his hand-on workshop and show his cutback and contour technique as well as his coloring strategies. He will also give valuable information regarding treatment planning, scan & design options, and nesting strategies for full arch implant reconstructions made out of zirconia and optional new materials revolutionizing the dental industry.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This lecture is providing a full overview of various digital denture solutions. Alexander will discuss material choices and options as well as communication tools, and compare each. He is going to explain the use of a simplified system from impression taking, scanning and digital design of the case with final milling of the restoration. The two most accurate and economic most sufficient systems on the market will be explained. One is targeting a digital workflow with traditional processing in finishing the denture; the other one a fully digital production and milling of the final full denture. Lastly, the economic advantages for the digital denture solution will be discussed as well.

Perry Carroll has more than 40 years of experience covering all specialties of dental technology. He focuses on achieving functional results from advanced dental situations, while maintaining natural aesthetics. Perry is a consultant for laboratories and dental offices around the world, and regularly participates in beta testing of products for top international dental manufacturers.


LECTURE TOPIC: A Guide to a more accurate Model with Amann Girrbach's Model Management Options

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This lecture will walk attendees through the entire workflow of creating a highly accurate model by using Amann Girrbach's model management solutions, including the Giroform pin drill, the effective Smartbox X2 plaster dispenser and the Smartmix X2 vacuum mixer. In addition, Perry Carroll will also cover articulation by using the Artex articulator.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:

  • Learn how the Smartbox dispenser and the Smartmix vacuum mixer work together to ensure optimal stone expansion
  • Understand how the Giroform system creates a more accurate model
  • Identify the steps to properly mount models and program an articulator
